The Training Center for Adhesive Bonding Technology of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in Bremen offers a vocational training program leading to qualification as a DVS/EWF European Adhesive Engineer (EAE).

The course qualifies successful participants to properly manage and monitor a full range of adhesive technology aspects ranging from product development to manufacturing and repair. Participants also examine the entire product life cycle and learn how to apply this as a framework. The target group for this course includes engineers and scientists from all disciplines as well as employees from industry sectors that use adhesive technologies.

The Adhesive Engineer training program takes a total of 332 hours and is divided into eight one-week course modules, each of which focuses on a different subject area. The eight one-week modules are distributed over an 11-month period. The entire course must be completed within a maximum period of three years. The course ends with an oral examination.

European Adhesive Specialist

The Training Center for Adhesive Bonding Technology of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in Bremen offers an Adhesive Specialist training program to employees of companies that use adhesives in industry and the skilled trades sector, as well as companies involved in adhesive manufacturing and distribution.

Successful completion of this training program qualifies participants to guide and instruct trainees and Adhesive Bonders in the theory and practice of adhesive bonding technology. Successful participants also learn how to plan, organize and monitor adhesion processes.

The Adhesive Specialist training program takes a total of 120 hours. It is divided into three one-week face-to-face modules. The final exam takes place at the end of the third and final module.

Participants are given the opportunity to complete a computer-based preparatory module before embarking on the course itself.

European Adhesive Bonder

The Training Center for Adhesive Bonding Technology of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in Bremen offers a training program for employees of companies that use adhesives and specialists employed by adhesive manufacturers.The course leads to qualification as an Adhesive Bonder.

Successful participants acquire the skills they need to perform adhesion processes independently and professionally. The course covers the basic principles of adhesive bonding and helps participants to identify deviations in adhesion processes which could have a negative impact on the subsequent performance of the adhesive bond.

The Adhesive Bonder training program is a full-time course that takes a total of 40 hours including the final exam (one week). Participants also have the opportunity to complete a computer-based preparatory module.
