Standard Duration and Scope of Studies

  • The standard duration of a master’s study program, including the master’s thesis and the colloquium, is seven semesters.
  • A total of 120 credits will be awarded to students who successfully complete the master’s program, 30 of which will be allocated to the final master’s module.
  • The study program, including the examinations, is held in English. Subject to the examiner's consent, module examinations may be conducted in another language.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
  • Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent degree with at least 180 credits in a technical or scientific course in the subject area

  4. - Physics
  5. - or equivalent
  • Letter of motivation (maximum two pages) in which you state your personal motivation and suitability for the master's program convincingly, including a record of previous academic performance, field training and scientific work.
  • Proof of at least one year of work experience of any kind after finishing your first degree of higher education. The work experience does not have to be obtained in the wind energy sector.
  • Proof of English language knowledge equivalent to level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
CONTENT OVERVIEW
  • The Online M.Sc. Wind Energy Systems program consists of four sub-areas:
  • Natural science and engineering fundamentals of wind turbines (30 ECTS)
The two specializations:
  • "Energy Systems Engineering" and "Simulation and Structural Technology" (at least 30 ECTS in one of the two specializations)
  • Additive key competencies (business administration and law)
  • Master's thesis (30 ECTS)
