TARGET GROUP

The advanced training is aimed at:

  • Emerging leaders as well as executives (CEO, CTO, department heads, etc.), who actively tackle the challenges of the transforming photonics industry and photonics innovations in their companies
  • Managers for innovation, strategy, IT, HR or product development within the photonics industry, who want to get a comprehensive overview of the current landscape and trends in photonics.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF offers a unique, professional development program that provides you with a broad overview of the latest developments and prospects in photonics for your business. The English-language 5-day “Photonics Manager Compact” program – which can also be booked in separate packages – assists you in mastering the current challenges in the photonics industry and in comprehending, instructing, and executing processes and methods for a long-term increase in effectiveness.

The program covers the key topics from current challenges in the photonics market. It consists of two different module complexes: “Future of Photonics” and “Future of Leadership in Photonics”.

Future of Photonics (3 days)

New technologies alter traditional business models regardless of the industry. Knowing these technologies and their business implications are fundamental for optimizing relevant process chains. Learn about the latest trends and developments in photonics from the experts at Fraunhofer IOF and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

The “Future of Photonics” module consists of the following parts:

  • Perspectives of Laser Technology
  • Next Generation Optical Systems
  • Quantum Technology, Micro Optics & Coatings

Future of Leadership in Photonics (2 days)

Leadership forms the backbone of an organization. In order to maneuver successfully in rapidly changing and complex environments, a systematic view is needed. Experience the human-centered approaches and positive mindset of appreciative leadership and appreciative organizational development while taking into account the special characteristics of the photonics industry.

The “Future of Leadership Photonics” module consists of the following two parts:

  • Appreciative Leadership
  • Appreciative Organizational Development

Laboratory tours and evening events with guest speakers complement the technical teaching units.
