The University of Freiburg, the Freiburg Fraunhofer Institute and the Fraunhofer Academy are developing a range of diversified, as regards content, occupational courses of study at under-graduate program level in scientific advanced training, a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Employees, even with family, shall have the opportunity to further educate themselves on an academic level by modular system, combining individual and flexible small-scale units to higher degrees.
Two continuing education certifications, in accordance with the accepted standard of Swissuni, the renowned training association of the Swiss Universities, are relevant for the project "Window for Continuing Education": the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), which is awarded from 10 ECTS credits and the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS), which is awarded from 30 ECTS points onwards. The aim of the project is a broad range of academic advanced education of relatively small formats, which can - just like modular elements - be combined as desired to CAS or DAS degrees.
The topics of the training programs that are developed in this project include:
- Embedded Systems
- Palliative Care Basics
- Solar Energy Engineering
- Knowledge Translation
- Energy System Technology
- Security System Technology
