Fiber Reinforced Plastic Remanufacturer
Courses on fiber-reinforced plastic remanufacturers, which specifically deal with the repair of fiber-reinforced composites, are held at the Training Center for Fiber Composite Technology of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in Bremen.
A one week course will train the participants to repair fiber composites and to work in industrial production. The training course teaches participants how to effectively follow work instructions for their particular work tasks. After successfull completion of the course, they are able to process and repair high-quality fiber composite structures.
After an introduction to fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), participants become aquainted with various components (fibers, matrix materials, core materials, fillers), their characteristics as well as their effect on later component properties. Additionally participants are introduced to the principles of repair technique. The course ends with a final exam at the end of the course week.
The course is aimed at employees in companies whose work involves independently maintaining, repairing and processing fiber compsites following work constructions. It is particularly aimed at participants from the rail vehicle construcion sector.
