Fraunhofer responded to these changes by establishing the Fraunhofer Academy in order to offer specialists and managers in business and industry an excellent range of courses. Here the training and development potential of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is concentrated at one center, offering a unique transfer of knowledge from Fraunhofer research to business enterprise. The latest findings from applied research are channeled directly into the teaching content, providing a genuine platform for research and innovation.

European Innovation Management ImP3rove
The Fraunhofer Institute for Occupational Economics and Organisation (IAO) in Stuttgart developed training offers and seminars that are specifically tailored to the innovation and technology management of medium-sized companies. The IMP³rove-seminars are designed for consultants, financial service providers, representatives from the political and educational world, as well as employees from small and medium-sized companies aiming to attain the title “Innovation Management Consultant”.
Intellectual Capital Statement (ICS)
It is common ground for most European enterprises, that knowledge as a production factor is becoming increasingly important for securing competitiveness and sustainability. Thus managing the so called “Intellectual Capital” (IC) becomes more and more important for organisations.
The “Intellectual Capital Statement” (ICS) is a strategic management instrument to assess soft factors, to quantify their contribution to value creation and to enable the deduction of suitable measures for development. The meth-odology is based on international experiences and has the broadest dissemination in all branches and sizes of companies all over Europe.
Based on European ICS quality standards, the training enables the ICS Moderator to professionally prepare, moderate and guide through an ICS implementation process working on the highest quality level with a solid methodical foundation.
Master Online Photovoltaics
With the »Master Online Photovoltaics« the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in co-operation with the Fraunhofer-Institut for Solar Energy Systems ISE offers an international distance learning course concerned with research, development, production and marketing and sales of photovoltaics.
WUFI® – transient heat and moisture
The Fraunhofer-Institut for Building Physics IBP developed a software for calculating the coupled heat and moisture transfer in components: WUFI® (Wärme und Feuchte instationär) is a transient and experimentally validated computing method used to carry out a close-to-reality simulation of the moisture condition of components.
Composite-Technology
As a specialist for application-oriented adhesive bonding technology system solutions, the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing and Advanced Materials (IFAM) in Bremen is the recognized partner of the industry for personal development and advanced training. In these trainings the participants learn how to produce process and repair high-quality fiber composite structures.
Adhesive Bonding Technology
Bonding develops into one of the most important industrial joining technologies. It allows to combine the most differing materials lastingly while maintaining the material properties joining them into high-performance systems. The Fraunhofer IFAM offers the following trainings on adhesive bonding with an internationally accredited degree:

Non-destructive Testing: Innovative testing technology
A number of testing tasks can not be solved satisfactorily with the standard methods for nondestructive testing. Especially in the area of material characterization, the monitoring of industry plants or the reliability of joints specialists certified for innovative methods are needed. Fraunhofer offers the following courses in non-destructive testing:

Joining Technology in Electronics: hand and repair soldering
The value chain in the electronics industry faces fundamental changes: Application specific knowhow and »Hands-On Experience« in the mounting of electric circuits become increasingly more important: the high-tech industry depending on highly reliable electronic components needs exceptionally well trained employees. Center for Joining Technology in Electronics (ZVE) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Micro Integration IZM offer the following qualified trainings:

Master Software Engineering for Embedded Systems
The Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE offers together with the Distance and Independent Studies Center (DISC) of the TU Kaiserlautern a jobaccompanying distant learning Master course specialized on »Embedded Systems« The aim of the study course is to provide the responsible engineers with the current fundamentals und technologies of research and practice.
The internationally laid-out English language study course is for computer scientists and engineers in engineering and electrical engineering with at least two years of work experience in software development. Mathematicians an physicists, wanting to extend their qualification profile to knowledge in the software development an new technologies can open up new occupational areas for themselves in this way.
